The rest of the shooting was along the coast; beaches, rocks, waves, cliffs and all of it fabulous. The weather was varied, as desired, often with lovely soft high overcast but we also had some moody light rain as well as "can't shoot in this" rain with strong winds. The geology was fascinating with what was mostly sedimentary rock at one time having been tortured by heat and pressure, now with layers pointing more vertical than horizontal.
The Coast of Spain
I live in Ottawa where there's not much coastal ocean scenery, so I was happy to finally go on Alister Benn's tour of the north coast of Spain. We started and finished in Bilbao, presenting the opportunity to photograph the Guggenheim Museum, another of Frank Gehry's fabulous titanium-clad architectural puzzles. No lack of abstract compositions, continuously changing as the sun created new highlights and shadows. Plus it had a Maman sculpture just like the National Gallery here in Ottawa.
