Dune Poetry

The Namib Desert offers some of the most barren and spectacular landscape on earth. A flight over the dunes is a unique experience, so if you have the opportunity, take it, in a top-wing Cessna with the door off. Some colour images are on the Namibia page, and you can imagine that B&W imagery was not in my thoughts when shooting the rich reds and yellows of the sand. However, after some processing, it was accentuating the lines, shapes and tonal relationships in B&W that I found most rewarding. I lucked in with the timing when I submitted this portfolio to LensWork magazine, as they were looking to fill a spot in their next issue.
